HeadRoom says these are $899 list and will sell there for $699 which aims them pretty much at the Hifiman 560's. They look to have "borrowed" a few form factor ideas from the Stax SR009. Could get interesting.

That is interesting, I had heard about these but I thought they were just another headphone to fill a mid tier spot in the fostex lineup.  I didn't know they were a planar type driver.  I have always wanted to try the TH900 but I will have to add another fostex to the list.

I want to like planars but all I have had on have made me say "Errr... not bad, but not quite." Well, actually, the Stax 009s were stupendous, but also stupendously expensive. Still hoping to find something at about this price point that will "float my boat", so that's why these caught my eye.
