Hi all.
Just by curiosity, I also want to know how that combo sounds.
I use to own a Stax combo 35 years ago.

Just to clarify this device its not a amp, its a floorstanding speaker amp converter to headphone amp, hence the low price.

This unit works with an amp to allow use of electrostatic headphones. Reviews seem favorable. I was hoping we had some AC members with actual hands on experience to draw from.

Might want to ask on Head-Fi too.

Thanks dB,
been looking around over there also.. Seems like most of the info is either WTB or Sell.

The search is pretty awful at head-fi.  If you go to the Stax thread on summit hifi and search the thread there is quite.a bit.  I almost bought one and had to dig around.

sorry to be slow, have not been on for awhile.  there are some issues using the wee with my blue circle amp -- i was told by woo audio that it cannot be used where both the positive and negative speaker output has signal (pass labs for example).  one of the reviews says that as well but someone else on headfi was told by woo that it was not an issue.  anyway, i found a way around that but decided that i was pretty happy with my hifiman he-6 with an adapter to the blue circle.  i listened to the sr-009 on the blue hawaii and did not feel that it was so much better than what i had so the wee got less interesting.
