One of the morel tweeters is dead in my mini tower iia.  Is there a replacement/upgrade i can use or look around to buy?

Madisound will recommend replacement drivers if you go to their website and submit all pertinent information that they request.

Hi,

You have to replace the tweeter with identical model, otherwise it will affect the crossover frequency.  Acoustically if a different driver is more or less efficient that will change the tonal balance. 

Can you see which model Morel you have? Is it MDT-29?  Madisound has MDT-29 voice coil replacements and whole drivers, in both 4 and 8 ohms.

It ended up being cheaper for me to purchase 2 new dayton audio tweeters.  DC28F-8.  They seem to be very similar in specs if I'm not mistaken.  I will swap face plates and bolt them in.

Please report back when you've swapped in the new tweeters, as I'd like to know the outcome  Hopefully, you'll like the results, and the Dayton tweeters can be included as acceptable replacements VMPS parts.
