USB Cable + Transient MKII/VDC-5 MKII
« on: 10 May 2014, 04:19 pm »
I came across this posting in regard to USB cables in use with the Transient + VDC-5:

"A few questions: when powered with an external supply, can the Transient be used with a USB cable that has the powerline cut, or is there still a "handshake" required that needs the Vbus line to be present?"

I'm not a self-proclaimed audio sage, so I just want to triple check on the meaning of this above inquiry and if it in some way would be an issue with the USB cable I plan on using with the Transient/VDC-5. I have an Acoustic Revive USB-1.0PLS (http://www.acoustic-revive.com/english/pcaudio/usb_cable_01.html), which has dual signal/power cables, but still have singular plugs on both ends.

I wouldn't guess any issues, but the above inquiry has me worried.

Shouldn't be any problem... the referenced post was talking about a cable with no power wire when used with VDC-5.
