"Best" Coax Component Cable?
« on: 29 Jan 2004, 11:59 am »
Can somebody steer me in the right direction in regards to purchasing a good, reliable and, most importantly, not “dodgy” Coax Component Cable (RGB). I’m in Australia so I’m after AU sources please. I really don’t know where to start b/c the prices, so I’ve noticed, seem to be all over the place. Yeah, what is good and what is, well, rubbish? I have a low/mid end system (dvd, speakers, etc) and am willing to spend a few dollars on the right cables. Also, I’m fairly new to all of this and just want to start on the “right track”. Help needed.

Thanks,

Scott

You should probably post this question here:

That is the Australian regional forum on this site.

Good luck and welcome!

Hi Scott,

I live in perth and i bought a digital cable from wayne at bolder cable, he is based in denver, colorado, it was smoooth transaction.

here is the link:

http://www.boldercables.com/Store.asp?m=TheBolderCableCompany&n=10&k=7571&s=Digital+Cable

It is terminated with bullet plugs, i think including postage it cost me $115au.  2 bullet plugs alone sell for $40au, i think it is a super deal imo.

It replaced my monster cable digital coaxial cable which cost $60au.

I can't think of anywhere in oz where you would get a good deal like this.

regards

rod

Scott;

For lo-mid fi cables a good place to start are the Harmony Gold and AR ranges available from your nearest Dick Smith.

cheers

i got some low-fi cables from a local dealer. no point going "over the top" for me at this stage. anyway, thanks all for the feedback. fyi, here's what i purchased x 2. again, keeping it simple to start with. no big deal 'til i upgrade.
