Now that it is coming to the end of the year, we should post our favorite metal albums of 2015. As an accompaniment, we could list albums that you found during 2015 but were released earlier.

So far this year (I'll keep adding as I think of more):
Earthside
Leprous - The Congregation (probably my favorite....kinda metal, but clean vocals)
Ghost - Meliora

Previous years but took me this year:
Gojira - The Way of the Flesh (probably all others as well)
Persefone - Spiritual Migration
everything Leprous (holy shit these guys are on point)
Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I

Intriguing sound. Been listening to their Congregation album over time. Excellent prog overall. Would like to hear more riffs that sink to your soul but it's good nonetheless. I keep going back. Song writing is not without emotion, which I like.

yeah it isnt exactly metal head material, a bit more the prog rock enthusiasts' game with some metal influences for sure. Still it might be my best of 2015 candidate. Still going through the year, and of course Steven Wilson's Hand Cannot Be Erased cannot be erased from the running, again definitely not metal.
