Selling my Ric Schultz (EVS) modified Oppo 980. This player is Region Free and will play world wide DVDs. Purchased so that my wife could watch DVDs from Thailand and satisfy my Hi-Fi obsession. However, my wife rarely watches her foreign DVDs anymore so I am selling this fine universal player. What surprised me most about the mods was the significant improvement in the video output. Actually, I considered the video improvement to be even greater than the audio enhancements. My $2K Marantz player is now fulfilling our needs.
The mods include a new proprietary output circuit, new power supply mod, an array of other circuit , damping, and regulator mods. Also includes upgraded Vampire RCAs, IEC socket, and has a heavy 1/4 inch aluminum plate bonded to the chassis.
Overall, we used this player very little. $400 and includes shipping to any U.S. address.
