Congratulations Frank and everyone else involved in the production of the UltraValve.  I am sure there is celebrating at the Van Alstine's.  I hope the UltaValve amplifier proves to be worth all the time, planning and engineering that went into it.

I am sure Frank would be happy selling just many UltraValves as Dyncao sold Stereo 70's!

I went looking on the unofficial Dynaco page to see if I could find out how many Stereo 70s were ever sold. I guessing 150,000? They started selling it in 1959 till the mid 90s when the company folded. Very interesting. The site did say that the Dynaco A25 speaker had the largest volume of any speaker made, putting out 600,000 units during it's life span. That is one shit load of speakers!

I have not seen any productions numbers for the ST-70 either, the only thing I have seen in print is "It's the best selling tube amplifier of all time".

Here's to the UltraValve, let it take that title away from Dynaco.

I'll be looking forward to future comments from the new UltraValve owners. I'm sure the wait won't be long.  :D

I have read out there on the net over 300,000 ST-70's were sold. We all know if it is on the internet, it has to be true..   :?

This page reminds me how lucky I was to go to a Garage Sale in my old neigborhood and walk into the garage hearing my future amps playing. As well as meeting the man who built them and kept them running all those years. Nothing to do but insert them into my system once home.  :D

I listened to the Ultravalve this weekend and I must say it is a very nice sounding amplifier. Music was very detailed to my ears. The amp looks awesome.

Kudos to Frank,

I guess this is the place to state once again that I LOVE my U70.  Any future system changes will be based around it. The speakers that I am using with it, Infinity IM4.1 seem to be an ideal match as it has 850 watts powering each woofer.  The only thing I haven't tried yet is using the crossover in my receiver to limit the low frequencies going to the amp. No problems with volume, that is for sure.
