Greetings Robert  :D

Just tried this and for me when in mono, over all sound seems a little "flatter" and a slight volume reduction also on my left channel.

Be well...

Thank you Laundrew

Does that mean it's Normal ???

I have low Volume left channel when using BCD-1 & BDP-1 & my Fm Tuner In Mono ...

But when using my TT in Mono position it sounds clear as A bee
In Stereo Position with My TT left Channel is very Low

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Hi Robert

I had a similar experience with my BP25P a few years ago where one channel dropped on all sources and then completely cut out all together and discovered that the input selector may have oxidized over time, the mono switch is summing the left and right so even with one side failing one should hear equal volume from both sides.
It was just a matter of popping the lid and taking a small piece of thin rigid paper, believe I used a coffee filter, soaked in isopropyl alcohol and inserting it between each contact on the selector and rotating the dial back and forth a few times, the BP25P was then sounding better than ever.

This may or may not be your problem but it worked for me and I’m assuming you have checked cables and the gain switch on the amp.

Regards

Robert

Bryston changed my selector switch not to long ago 2 months or so.
Just a Note to go back in time .
My Stereo system was completely off during renovations that we were doing on the ground floor.
I Finally had a chance to sets everything up ….. except my Oracle TT and BP1.5
I did not have the need.
A buddy of mine was over and he Said lets spin some records .
I set everything up  and voila …. The sound was totally out of ears.. ugly and so distorted
The left channel sounded like it was not connected……
I spoke with Mike Picket … Sent in the Bp1.5  and Bryston found that Yes there was problems
The out put RCA connectors were not making good contact and they were loose
When it came back from Repair My TT sound much Cleaner but the left Channel. Was Still low.
After doing Test … Cables, Tone Arm cable  still Left Channel is low.
I sent the BP1.5 back to Bryston … James Tanner brought it home to do Tests.
End result James had said my BP1.5 sounded great.
My Oracle TT has a $4900.00 Dynavector moving Coil cartridge XV-1S Mono …
With a Phantom Graham tone Arm …
My TT was Not used at all during my renovations  it was put away in a safe area
Prior to doing my renovations my TT was the best sounding item in my collection of gear…
Robert

Any more thoughts … would be Nice
Thank you Robert

Ok…much more detail..

Should have been pretty straightforward in finding the source of the problem.

1. Stylus check....azimuth...alignment… dirty... bent ?

2. Swap the left and right wiring from the Oracle to the BP1.5…...and see if problem does or does not occur now with the right channel
If yes..swap the wiring on the cartridge … problem does or does not occur now with the right channel..…if yes problem lies with cartridge/stylus.

If no continue on and do the same for the 1.5 to the BP26 and so on.

Sometimes even us seasoned audiophiles miss a step. : )

Nice set-up though.

Best regards Robert

I had a look at the schematics and it looks like they just put left and right channel together and send this signal to each output. So each output receive a 50/50 mix of left and right channel.
