Who has veneered a receiver cabinet?
« on: 1 Sep 2015, 10:01 pm »
I have a 7070 that needs new veneer.

Can you guys recommend veneer type (glue versus self-stick), where to buy, and any tips/tricks you learned after doing one?

Thank you,
Kyle

I know a thing or two about veneering, and have a small forest of stock you could choose from.  It's probably have to wait until after RMAF before I could help, but if you're in no hurry, help I can.

Kyle, you're in for a treat. You should take him up on this offer.
If he lures you into his house, you guys give me a call (I'm right down the street).
Might even bring beer.

Ok this sounds good to me.

Vapor/Ryan, can you PM me a contact email or phone?

I'll reach out after RMAF.  So you guys fly/drive all the way out to Colorado for this event?  Is this one of the better audio events in the states?

The RMAF is one of the premier audio events and is on most of our calendars.  Great place to see and hear hundreds/thousands? of vendors.
A couple of our members have been reporting their reviews for several years now.  Watch for Tyson and Pez's post. They do a better job than the "pros" and don't ask vendors to buy and ad in return for a positive review.

Yup. He even showed me what to do with it.
It's amazing how shiny he can get it.

At this point, there's really not much more I can add.  I'd say you guys covered the Legend of Ryan's Wood well enough!

If I get a wagon like Bob's, will you veneer the side of it like you did his?

I got a chipped front tooth that keeps losing its filling. Been told a veneer would be a better solution...any interest Ryan? :green:

Bob, I have a deal for you!  The wife says I have to get rid of one of my woodies.  Do you know how to rebuild a GM transmission?  Repair rust?     :thumb:

I could do that.  Finishing it might be a bit messy though, but I do have an airbrush.
