From a Connecticut antique store last month; thought I'd scored one of HP's very best at first!  :hyper:
SQ is exceptional for what, a 60-year old disc?   VERY quiet LP surfaces to boot!   :thumb:

I love it when you find an unexpected ancient gem, and it turns out to be well recorded and pressed.  I'm often amazed at how good the technology was 65 years ago.

In a bunch of overpriced ($12-16ea) LPs today, I scored this MINT version today for $3.00!

Silent surfaces, great SQ!   :hyper:

The Stone Poneys/Linda Ronstadt   Sounds a like a blending of The Seekers and Pentangle.   Good SQ, too.

Wow! No one has scored any great vinyl since April??? That's just sad.
I can't find a photo I can copy, but I picked a great sounding mono:
Erica Morini and Nathan Milstein  Bach Conc. for 2 Violins, Sonata in C Major for 2 violins; and Vivaldi Concerto grosso Op.3 #8
Fantasic sound, but it's a bit hard to find at a reasonable price.  Angel 36006 mono on blue label.

Also a Milstein on Columbia  Mozart Conc. #5 in A maj and Bach Concerto#1 in A min.    Don't know what those 50's Columbia engineers were doing right, but many of those FDS green and gold label recordings are some of the best I own.  Simply stunning sound.  Capitol P8362 mono

Well, I buy records all the time AND I'm the one who started this thread. I have been severely remiss...Now that my 914 Porsche's are tucked away I need to get on it.

Most recently, someone I know peripherally gave me his records, all in pretty good shape, probably about 50 of them. He is a Hendrix freak so I will have to check out some of the vinyl that I believe people criticized as "robbing the grave" back in the day. He has a couple of Zappa, Atomic Rooster, McKendree Spring, Savoy Brown, much of it stuff I didn't have. Most of it in decent condition but hey, I have the SweetVinyl box so I am immunized against pops and clicks.

But it reminded me of how I was someone who, when at a party in the 70's or 80's, would mosey over to a person's record collection just to check things out. But as an audio snob with impeccable taste  I would secretly judge a person's musical sensibilities and taste. Bet I'm not the only one on AudioCircle guilty of the same!

I thought everybody did that- along with looking at their books.

Like Paul, I'm buying records all the time. I have been remiss in posting, so here are a few recent acquisitions. The first 6 are from a record swap a few weeks ago. I have no idea why the first two photos are on their side. All 5 were facing the same way when i uploaded them and I have no idea how to fix it.

Looking at someone's record collection back in the 60s and 70s was an indication of whether they smoked weed. :eyebrows:

Excellent 180gr vinyl, superb pressing.
Great funky interpretation of Les mcCanns and Eddie Harris most famous songs. Highly recommended;

Bill Evans and Jim Hall "Undercurrents"  MFSL pressing.

Great LP, great pressing with caveat. It's got a really low rumble.

Once again, 6 weeks have gone by and no one has had a catch of the day!
Local record store put out some some new stuff, but hadn't sorted it or priced it.
Two copies of the 1812 by Kunzel on Telarc, one nm, one Sealed
One copy of the Firebird Suite on Telarc, nm.
One copy of the Rites of Spring on Telarc nm
One copy of Grand Canyon Suite on Columbia Half Speed Mastered
One copy of Thelma Houston and the Pressure Cooker on Sheffield Labs--- Sealed!
One copy of Benny Morton and Jimmy Hamilton Blue Note Swingtets on Mosaic- Sealed
Total- 20 bucks.

I didn't really need any but the Mosaic, but at that price???
Anyone need one of my nm- copies?  Duplicates need to go.
