Don't see it on the website.  Is it a goner?

That would be unfortunate but understandable. Doubt there are many of those PAS boxes coming in anymore. And what a deal on the RB preamp... If the PAS has been killed off, that may be why.  If only they would release that as a kit.

I know there are a few people who will be disappointed over AVA's decision to discontinue the Super Pas III rebuild kit. This decision was made after reviewing sales from the past 5 years as well as the following reasons:

Audio by Van Alstine developed the Super Pas III rebuild kit many years ago and we have depleted our vast supply of these boards.

The circuit boards used for this kit, we designed in such a way, that it is not in our computers. Even the old MAC, that Frank uses for old documentation, does not contain the files.

The time/cost to redo this board out-ways the request for the kits.  Many of the part footprints of the parts used have changed as well.  Part changes would also entail rewriting of the manual.  Again, this was done in ancient software, and would be time consuming to get it into updated, editable software.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find decent, working Pas units, to even do the rebuild in.

As dB Cooper has pointed out, our Transcendence 10 RB beats the Pas III hands down in sound and durability. It also comes with a 3 year parts and labor warranty as well as 30 day satisfaction guarantee. A new, basic Transcendence 10 is $899 and worth every penny!
