I am sure this topic has been discussed, I just cant seem to find the thread.
I offered to give a friend some advise on a nice sounding Living Room WIFI Speaker and am looking for some advise myself.
Needs for the speaker are:
Book Shelf Size
Powered
Wifi or Blue tooth.
XLR or quarter Inch on the Back
Look nice for a living room
Needs some bass, no wimpy blue tooth portable Speakers
For casual listening and so the kids can link up to it with their Devices to stream music.
Price range would be 300 to 1000 bucks
Any onther choices out there other than something like this
https://audioengineusa.com/shop/wirelessspeakers/hd6-wireless-speakers/
https://kantoaudio.com/product/yu6/
Are these types of Speakers only Blue Tooth or can they be Wifi As well, What is better
Thanks in advance

I can recommend Riva WAND series. A pair of Arenas or Festivals. BT and WIFI. Can be paired for stereo. I own a single Arena in the bathroom. Not wimpy at all. It has 1/8 in stereo instead of XLR of 1/4 in.

Serious active monitors with Bluetooth APTX and XLR in, as requested.

Tom,
Wow. Small world. I've known about this new speaker for about 6 months now. The company that is producing this speaker is owned by the brother of a friend of mine. I've never met the brother, but my friend has been acting as consultant to get this speaker off the drawing boards and into production. I was involved with some of the English editing that is on the Kickstarter page. I have never heard the speaker (production/factory is in China - the brothers are Taiwanese).
My friend is not quite an audiophile, but he may still become one. He does appreciate good music, and he has assured me that this little speaker makes great sounding music. As I mentioned above, I have not heard it, so I have no opinion. There's a really good chance I'll hear one in the next month or so as I return to Taiwan Monday.

Edifier S2000 Pro active speakers review. Premium speakers by Edifier, does it make any sense? *hint - Yes it does ;)

In other forums I put several Edifier test/reviews and measures?

Signal to noise ratio:≥ 94dB(A)
Noise level:≤ 25dB(A)
If I am not wrong, the annoying continuous noise starting at 19 dB. It is an important fact when looking for silent fans for PCs or amplifiers.

In near field is a bad choice I think.

Tom,
I did finally get a chance to listen to this Upstage 360 speaker today. I also learned I had gotten a couple points wrong. I first learned about it approximately 4 months ago rather than 6. [My time sense has been off recently.] The company producing it is not owned by my friend's brother. The company behind it is called Soundmatters. My friend, Rick, is acting as a consultant (at least I got that right). Production will be in China, but not Rick's brother's company. If it becomes popular enough, there is a factory somewhere in the US that could produce it for N. American consumption.
I'm going to write up a little post about it. My wife listened to it for about 10 minutes before asking me to buy one. [Why she can't so quickly decide which house to buy in Vancouver, WA is a mystery to me. :duh:]
Give me a day or so to collect my thoughts and read my notes before I post something more.
Michael
