Here's a big one. The legendary album "Jazz at the Pawnshop" is now available from Acoustic Sounds, Native DSD and Pro Sound Masters in both Single Rate (DSD 64) and Double Rate (DSD 128). Native also adds a DXD version. According to the descriptions, these are Analog Master Tape to DSD and DXD transfers. Excellent!

It sounds great on the Sony HAP-Z1ES and a new Stereo DSD DAC I'm reviewing here. Just like you were there, at the "Pawnshop" Jazz club in Stockholm when it was recorded.

Quite a difference in price between the music sites - the Double Rate DSD is going for $30.20 on Native DSD and $44.99 on Acoustic Sounds and Pro Studio Masters.

The other difference to ponder is the file size of the JATP downloads. While they are all in stereo, the DSD-64 download is 2.2 GB, the DSD-128 download is 5.8 GB and the DXD download is 8.8 GB. Interesting....

Yes, Rene (2xHD) has done an incredible job of triple transferring a great master set of tapes (the album is a sort of Vol 1- Vol 2 combo for those that know the three volume set).  I had a long conversation with him and told him I would also remind folks that owning both hirez PCM and DSD formats would be a great chance to really test the sweetspots of your DACS, being that these Nagra transfers are almost entirely the same provenance (the DSD64 and DXD were both mastered to a dcs 905; DSD128 used Ayre's QA9).  I have long been a proponent of a DAC having a sweetspot ('horses for courses") and there is no better, no more intimate and detailed recordings set to use than this one.  Heck, just a buy a few tracks of each if you want, and compare them (NativeDSD allows this, not sure of the others.).
