As I read this thread I realize that I had my own stereo before most of you were born. This is not a pleasant realization. Yikes!! I'm getting old.

You're right, Pez. I was only eleven at the time that came out - didn't have a stereo yet.

That beats the alternative: Not having your own stereo and not getting old.

Jim Croce "Time In A Bottle"

After The Hangover Part 2, I don't think I can ever hear that song the same again.

You young whipper-snappers take heart. Don't be disappointed if your birth song is lame (like mine). At least you weren't subjected to its 24x7 airplay on AM radio. Insipid drivel such as, "Purple People Eater", "Daydream Believer", "Itsy Bitsy"', "Horse with No Name", ... argh! I am cursed with this crap forever rolling around in my stupid pea-sized brain. Along with, "The Name Game", "Sugar (Archies)", etc.  :duh: :duh: :duh:

rockadanny is right.  I was dangerously close to having Ray Stevens "The Streak."  How did the US ever become a global superpower with this kind of stuff as our soundtrack?

A Beetles song in the 60's...I'm shocked.  My song was Get Back by The Beatles.

That's just what's on the front of our Greeting Cards, once you open it you will find stuff like "The Pusher" from Steppenwolf, "Heroin" from The Velvet Underground and "Search & Destroy" from Iggy & the Stooges... etc. That's how.  :D

"My Sweet Lord/Isn't It a Pity" by George Harrison...not too bad.

1/11/71

Looking at what was number one on my birthday as the decades change, I realized that I knew less and less of the music (which is a good thing).
