Zenith Speakers

Bought these at a garage sale. They have a woofer and a horn tweeter. Just couldn't resist the craftsmanship. Haven't hooked them up yet. Could they be any good?

Thanks,

Paul

Got to open and see what sort of drivers it has.  Perhaps some old Alnicos?  Are they light for their size?

If they have a 12" woofer my guess is that they are Zenith 49CZ852 drivers.   These are Alinco magnets with cloth surrounds I believe.  The cabinets look nice also only needing minimum touch-up work.
Nice find.

Here are some 12 inch Zeniths I pulled from an old console and they sound excellent in open baffle test baffles. The console had an open back so I was confident they would work well in OB.

Came home with 2 pairs for 90 bucks. They sit in the corner of my sound room just for grins. The receiver is going to my middle daughter later this month. Playing them stacked in A+B mode has resulted in some really good sound. So I haven't bothered to take them apart...

They have plastic feet on the bottoms, hence stacking one on top of the other. Should I stack them sideways? Woofers in the middle or on the outside. Granted, this is not any kind of ideal installation, but I'm curious.

I flipped them and in this poor installation corner, they actually sound quite musical.
