I'm selling my Oppo BDP-83 which has had extensive mods done by Ric Schultz of EVS. The mods cost ~$600. The basic and 2 channel mods were done:

This page lists the SE mods, but they were very similar for the 83.
About a year ago, the unit stopped reading discs and I sent it to Oppo, who replaced the entire transport without a hitch, even though the mods were extensive and thus voided the warranty. In the mean time I bought a BDP-103D for my main system and this 83 went into my office, where I rarely watch movies and my music is on a server; hence the new transport has less than 50 hours on it.
The player operates flawlessly. It has a few minor scratches, but  is still a 7 or 8. It has had the toslink output removed by EVS, who believe it added noise.
Sonically it is a winner, comparing well to my modded Eastern Electric Minimax Plus and NAD M51 DACs, and the picture quality is superb, of course.
At my price this is a super bargain all the way around, and of course Oppo provides support for their products like no other company.
Original packaging and remote is included, plus an instruction sheet from EVS.
Shipping will be charged at cost, ~$25-30 to cont. US.
Thanks for having a look!
