I'm in the formative stages of planning my first serious OB widebander speaker project. At the heart of the design will be a pair of Supravox 215-2000 EXC's, which I love, love, love! (Used full range in a JE Labs baffle years ago) I plan to augment the bass with a pair of Altec 416's. See the following 6Moons article which is my inspiration...

While I would love the RAAL's he recommends to add a bit of top end sparkle, they are hard to find and the budget wont stretch that far. I have found a good deal at Parts Express for the AST30100's. For simplicity will probably probably use a simple 1st order XO for the tweeter.

Will this work? Thoughts and recommendations appreciated!

In the 6moons article, he says the cap is sized for a 9 kHz rolloff. The 30100 is falling in the top octave, so I'm wondering if the cap was sized smaller, it would tend to level the response in the top octave out and bring the sensitivity down more to where the Raal is. (Which per spec is a fair bit less than the Supravox.)

Im using the Aurum Cantus G1 ribbon tweeter, and I'll say this, there products are very good. I wouldn't hesitate to try any of there tweeters.
I do have a attenuator circuit for my tweeters, which I have used a lot. and one of my ribbons blew shortly after i got it, replaced it, its been running a long time now, 2 years without any issues.. First set of ribbons i have ever owned. Just a wonderful sound.

I used raal 140/15D with 200hz tractrix horn and OB bass. Since then I use aurum cantus G2S with a bass reflex wideband CSS driver. The Raal is very good but going by memory the aurum cantus is very close.
