I picked these up last year, and after mulling what to do, I have decided to get them fixed up, powered up, cleaned and maintained, hooked up to some horns, and see how they do. The MI 1443s are supposed to be some of the best drivers ever, so I'm excited to try this restoration. Paging Jeff Medwin!

I have some RCAs, but I'm thinking about making some Edgar salad bowls.

I've been eye balling these and other variants of these woofers for years. Just can't figure out what to do with them. Two problems for me: Their bandwidths is just a little limited for a 2 way (or a 2.1/2.2 ... ad on sub and/or tweeter), and can't figure out what kind of horn to put them w/out going huge. The horn problem is kind of a universal one I suppose. The bandwidth problem could mitigated with a CD that could go low... which means another big horn.

Would love to see some pictures of the horn you are planning to use.

I sold a set of field coil drivers from a Hammond organ years and years ago, wish I had had the gumption to stick with them. Good luck! Would love to see how they work out. BTW can we see a pic of the round thing? :D
