I'm with Tyson on all counts. PPM were great citizens who really got their hands dirty - not posers like the Dead.

I wore that first PPM album out when I was 9 or 10.  Loved the harmony of  "Morning Train".  I was too young to understand the protest, but I understood social inequity even then.
