What a difference a day makes...
« on: 13 Aug 2014, 03:12 pm »
I went in to the surgical unit on Monday with 20/500+ vision in my left eye.  Today I am 20/20 in that eye.  My Doc told me to stay away from sawdust until next Monday.  Small price to pay for being able to see again.   8)

Thanks for all of the well wishes that I have gotten.  Amazing surgical and lens tech nowdays.

What was your procedure?  I will soon be up for, in my right eye, cataract removal, lens implant, and finally cornea transplant all in one surgery session.I wonder how it will go. My vision must be similar to what your's was before your surgery and even worse in my left eye although the cornea isn't so bad off.  Any advice?

Best advice I can give is to simply do everything they tell you to do.  Use your eye drops before surgery for sure.

I had a cataract removal and distance lens implanted.  The whole procedure took 9 minutes and I slept for a day.  Having a cornea transplant is a much more extensive procedure that I have no clue about.  All I can really say is that the colors are just like we remember.

My best wishes and prayers for your surgery.

Wow, great!  Very happy you can see clearly now...  :thumb:

I can see clearly now the rain is gone.
I can see all obstacles in my way.
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind.
It's gonna be a bright (bright)
bright (bright) sunshiny day.

Thanks, Dave. Good you are doing well. I am excited at the prospects of greatly improved vision and am keeping my fingers crossed that it goes according to plan.

I know.  On the night of the supermoon I had 11 of them in my left eye and only 3 in my right.  Now I have one light in my left eye and three lights in the right.  I can barely wait for the next surgery.

You got an amen here!   :D

That's great news, Dave! It is truly remarkable what the docs can do with eyes these days. The Lasik procedure I had a few years ago turned back the clock 20 years for me.  Next they have to do the same for ears.

And what a day it was and is.
Just refrain from looking in a mirror for a while. With the better vision we don't want you having a heart attack
just when things are lookin up.
