Hello!
« on: 18 Aug 2017, 12:36 am »
I've been lurking for quite a while and decided to register today. Looking to learn more about integrating my PC into my audio system and just talking with fellow audio enthusiasts!

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome!

If you own a Mac, JohnR developed a very useful primer that's posted in the permanent threads at the top of the Apple Core Circle.

Another great audio use for computers is to subscribe to Tidal (over 40 million albums of real time CD quality music for $20/month).

Just please promise not to copy commercial recordings you didn't pay for (pirate).  Too many audiophiles believe its OK to steal from artists, studios, and retailers.

And remember to securely backup your files.  I'm a nut about that, have CDs of all my music which is ripped to two computers, use Apple Time Machine to make automatic backups to external hard drives, and keep an extra backup hard drive for each computer in a safety deposit box to protect from theft or fire.
