I was curious if anybody has tried the Sophia Electric 274B in the MW external power supply?  I have the Modwright tube Oppo 83 and currently using Sophia's for the 6SN7's and NOS Mullards for the rectifier tube in the power supply.  I know that the Sophia 274B's are taller and wouldn't fit.  I would have to drill a hole into the cover for it to fit.

Not advisable, for the simple fact that the 274B data sheet indicates very specific PS design, with regards to capacitor size following the rectifier as well as the anode supply.  Our PS was not designed with this tube in mind and it could have a short life if used in our PS 9.0, any of our line stages or phono designs.
