Title: Jeff Rowland Model 5 Amplifier $1500
Post by: Mister Pig on 23 Jun 2009, 01:38 pm: One of the amps that the Jeff Rowland legend was built upon. Very detailed, with the warmth and smoothness of tubes. Capable of driving any kind of speaker load. 150 wpc into 8 ohms, 300 wpc into 4 ohms, and 475 wpc into 2 ohms. The model 5 amp also passes 40 amps of current, so this amp is a powerhouse. Amp has RCA inputs, does not have the balanced input option. Amps is in excellent condition, and works flawlessly. Does have one small nick to a heat sink. There is a small rough spot on the edge of the faceplate that cannot be seen. Only felt if you know its there. Preference is given to local sale. Will consider shipping if buyer is willing to cover additional packing costs, would probably need to have a crate built. Cost would only be what I am charged. originally sold for $5K, and still competitive today. Sell for $1500. This one is in perfect condition operationally, and has great cosmetics. Also have an ad for a Jeff Rowland Consummate pre-amp on this board. Model 5 and Consummate is a great combination.

Had great success running a pair of high efficiency speakers with the Model 5, but 150 wpc @ 8 ohms is too much power for 98dB efficient speakers. Especially when the pre-amp has a stepped attenuator volume control.

Great sounding amp with tube like qualities, yet the power and current to drive any type of speaker. Already considered to be an audio classic.
