considering that improved soundstage and imaging were key inspirations for this design, they should reproduce the the space that the recording was made:

Salk Sound - Venue

Hmmmm    Venue, Orchestra Hall--I think I prefer Venue.  Don't think I've seen it anyplace else.  I like that one.

I really like Venue too .... but isn't that what Danny has called his new OB?

If only I was as creative as some others here and could come up with an equally good alternative  :(

Well, since it has a RAAF and FAL speakers in it - you could call it RALF.

Or since Murphy and Kittiner did a lot of work on it - you could call it MURKI.

Okay, since Venue seems to be taken, how about:
Salk Domain, or Salk Scene

or more like Dennis' suggestion with "Concert Hall":  Salk Amplitheater

or how about a French twist:

mise en scène

Salk Sound
Pi or the Greek symbol (i.e. 22/7);

Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus (1922), which altered the practice of philosophy by calling into question the ability of language to talk about ethical and metaphysical questions in any meaningful way. Beauty has to be equated Mathematically. There is no greater truth than Mathematics.

"It is very difficult to modify our language so that it will be able to describe these atomic processes, for words can only describe things of which we can form mental pictures, and this ability, too, is a result of daily experience. Fortunately, mathematics is not subject to this limitation"

Dang that Danny.  There's a really obvious and totally goofy name you're all missing.  But I'll let Jim mention it, and then bury it.

I think that Salk Velocity for this speaker would work.

Better yet Salk Velocity series, using these new type drivers in smaller speakers to suit all customers situations (Ie: salk velocity: xtc-1 xtc-2  etc.. a step up) depending how sales go you could retire the veracity series and offer a better product overall or keep both series to suit a broader range of situations..   :thumb:

Looking at those response curves, the name ubiqity, or ubiqitous comes to mind: having the same sound everywhere. For a trademark and copywrite free version of the same: The Ubiquiton.

I take it the low to mid X/O point is not low enough to allow the bass bin to be used in a different location  from the mid-high section in the room for better room node and imaging control. Why not make the mid and-or tweeter section rotate 90 degrees left or right to control dispersion without having to move the speakers? Tilting the mid-high section up and down could also be beneficial, but not as easy to execute.

Salk Soundstage

It is descriptive of the unique off-axis / orchestral / wide imaging that is apparently a signature of this speaker...

It's also easy to say, easy to remember, and alliterative...
