Hi Mr. Handel.
I just finish reading your Handel website from cover to cover
and I did not see your complete name,
therefore, I am adressing you with Mr. Handel.
Below are comments,
opinions and questions in more or less in random order,
so here it goes.
Nice website you've got, simple and short.
I love tubes I have now a Decware SE84C+
and a Bottlehead Crack.
I also love point to point wiring.
Stepped attenuator is better thanm what I have now.
Wood base make the unit look nicer and warmer,
my Bottlehead Crack is wood base,
but not the Decware SE84C+
I also love the SET with no NFB, that's what I have.
I more thing that is good is the choke filtering,
I don't have that now.
Your specs are good: 18 - 22KHz but within + - ? dB
What's the % of distortion
The two above missing figures at full output
would be nice to know.
Niot that those figures are a must,
but it satisfy curiosity and confirm good engineering of your amplifier,
well that's what I think, if I'm wrong, please fell free to tell me.
The 6EM7/6EA7 can they be substituted with EL34 ?
My favorite tubes are the EL84/34
How much cost a replacement for the 6EM7 ?
What is the driver tube model for the SET amplifier?
Your sepcs says: Self-Bias (Auto Bias)
what does that mans ? Can we choose?
At 1,299 USD for your SET 6EM7 with wood base
and all the nice specs,
that's a very affordable unit.
Your website does not state the warranty, unless I've mist it.
I am also curious to know what's the make/model of your speakers
shown on the two video.
Will you later offer a SET amplifier with more output watts?
What is the input voltage to get the full 2 wpc output?
Can you offer at no extra charge a darker wood finish?
Yes, I will stop here before you call me a pain in the neck.
Waiting for your comments and answer.
Thanks you and welcom to the wonerful world of Audio Circle.

Oh, Handel.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to reply here, so others can find out, too? Guy13 is very interested in vacuum tube amps (I think he's got 2 of them). Fullrangeman is an uber-tuber kinda guy!  :icon_lol: I'm a tube noob, but I'm learning.

I would think a manufacturer would jump at the chance to engage in any conversations or dialogue about their products here on the AudioCircle forum, whether or not the information is already covered in part or in full on their website.

Step up to the plate, Mr. Handel.  This is a forum, not a portal.

Guy 13, Thank you for your questions.
The 6EM7 is a twin triode containing the preamp and output section in one tube.
The 6EM7 cannot be substituted with an EL34 as the pinout of the tube base is different.  See http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/vs.html to help understand tube basing.
Power Output: (1 watt / 1.3% THD 8ohm load )
(2.5 watts / Max output @5% THD 4.5V input)
Frequency Response: 22 Hz - 26 kHz  (1W into 8 ohm load)
Noise: 710 Uv
Biasing: self bias
After listening trials (blind testing), self-biasing sounded much better, so, auto-bias is no longer an option.  Updated the site to reflect this.
We do have plans for higher power Triode amplifiers in the works, as soon as current custom orders ship.
The wood finish that you see is standard. As for free upgraded finishes, we cannot offer free upgrades as our amplifiers are already competitively priced.
We are not a high production facility, so our staff wear many hats. If we do not post responses right away, don't feel we are ignoring you. But our current customers must always come first.
As we stated, the best way to receive a response is to contact us directly.

Mr. Handel

Welcome to Audio Circle.  Looking forward to getting to know your gear.  Lots of tubeheads here.  The amps look like they would generate some interest in the Low Wattage Circle.  8)

I have a pair of DIY 1625 amps that output 110 watts from each amp, and a Thomas Meyer based 6AH4 preamp.

Thanks for the kind words, Jim.  Not that many audio folks around these parts.

Anyway, would like to hear the Handel 6V6 with a nice set of modified K-Horns (or any quality high quality speaker suitable for low wattage applications).

Selfbias is my favorite when possible, its the safest bias and dont stress the tube.
But hi power not possible with selfbias.
