:)

hello ,

to achieve a good open baffle system, you need speaker QTS high, from 0.8 is possible but greater than 1 is ideal, avoid speaker with QTS less than 0.7, the color and aesthetics of open baffle does not solve the audio quality problems :)

the good speaker 10 "

Usually 18'' cones are too heavy over 100g, so far there is no other like the Alpha15A and yet is cheap.

hello ,

Eminence is good  :thumb:
Alpha 15 is good because QTS = 1.56  :wink:

what determines the correct use of the speaker are its parameter T and S, without this, there will be no logic, and I strongly recommend to measure different parameters top speaker with Arta Limp because a lot of manufacturers indicate values false.

nope, is good for a lot of compatible t/s data , ie the TS 38/800 with Qes 0.95 is really bad for OB ;)

QTS is 1.26
QES is 1.53
http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Alpha_15A.pdf
A QTS=1.00 will show a less soft bass than the Alpha.

TS 30 300 QTS 0.8 => mesure Limp  1.20 ;)  very good speaker for open baffle ;)

yes, I know very well the work of Linkwitz but this speaker is not serious for the open baffle, in addition to a deplorable performance, it has a too low QTS to support this kind of architecture properly, with HP very low VAS will be much better in a small subwoofer in closed or bass reflex in a small room, I listen to a lot of classical music with symphony orchestras and chamber and I love church organ when I ' listening to music, i like the instruments in my living room with the real gain of the instrument with the closest possible stamp (it's complicated)

to give an idea of gain for each instrument with an HP 87 db)

3800 w for listen organ !!  :duh:

for me 250 w ;)
