I'm trying to find out what we can do to help raise funds for the AKFest next spring. It's tentatively being "planned".

I'm waiting for Dave to respond to my PM. The deposit for the venue is the first expense. Then lining up vendors and users for the rooms I'm guessing.

If you subscribe to AudioKharma.org for $25 you can get in on the auctions being offered by users for this cause. I asked Dave if we can contribute directly to get this thing kicked off in parallel to the auctions. I'll let you know what I hear.

Here is Dave's response this morning. I sent $100. Match me and let's make this happen. Dave says he is only a few hundred short of the deposit for the Novi Sheraton.

About 50 rooms and 800 to 1000 attendees. And then there is the GTG at my place!!

Glad a good chance AKfest is happening this year.
Not sure on attendance but the last show had about 70 vendors in 40 rooms (this may include a few member rooms).

How big is this event usually? The timing might be better instead of RMAF.

It's a smaller show than RMAF certainly but has a great feel to it. Some of the rooms are personal rooms where people bring their own systems to hang out and just listen, talk to people they know from the web, etc. It's a good time and a good chance for folks in the upper midwest - though there are people from AK who come from all over the world.
