A early production Threshold 400A from 76 or 77.  Works like a champ.

What is the oldest piece of audio gear that you currently use?

I will have to guess, (since I have an all-vintage system), that is a tie between my Thorens TD 124 (MKI) and my pair of Quad II Monoblocks. but, I also have McIntosh MC 30, 75, Ma 75, Paragon 12A, Marantz 10B which are all old.

Marantz HD-77 speakers (1976) with original sculpted foam grills - designed by Ed May.  Still sound great with bottom end that really hits you in the chest.  Had the woofers re-done by Bill Watkins just before he retired.  In the the process of upgrading the crossovers.  Also have a Thorens TD160-C turntable (1976) which I mounted a Grace 707 MKII tonearm on in 1979.

Nice vase to compliment the foam grills of the Marantz speakers!

Oldest: Technics SL-P230 CD player. Never a moment's trouble out of this unit. It can go head-to-head with the much better known Rotel RCD-855 and cost considerably less. Bought in it February, 1989. Has a headphone jack and volume control, and powers my AKG K601 and Beyerdynamic DT 880 headphones at my computer desk. An overlooked wonder and one of the first low cost CD players that really sounded good.

2nd oldest: Rotel RCD-855 CD player. It refuses to die. Has many years of hard use on it. Bought it in spring of 1991. The newer CD players sound only marginally better, like the Sony DVD/SACD player I bought in 2003.

I have Heathkit W5M mono amps from the early 60's due for a rebuild this winter, then they go into my home theater system to power my Polk RT5 speakers. They have been out of service since 2002, but will be the oldest audio gear of anything I have ever owned when they go back into service.

A Marcof battery powered phono pre.  A little step up for a low output Koetsu Black if I need it.  Problem is, I've misplaced my manual for for my Monolithic phono pre which I need find to properly mate with der Koetsu.  A work in progress I guess you could call it.

The Thorens TD-124 that I bought from a very friendly AC member!  Really is a blast to use.

Me too, The Luxman still works beautifully in my home office.

Hey Austin, somehow missed your post. The Luxman conked off a while ago. The Technician is not able to figure out what's wrong exactly. Something to do with the protection circuit I guess.

Lots of interesting gear here.  My oldest piece is a McIntosh MI3 Performance Indicator. It’s a tube model from the mid sixties. I just had it cleaned and serviced last month. One weak tube replaced and a hundred dollar bill out the door and it works great!

Revel Ultima Gems from 1998 or so.
Avalon Opus ~2002.
Both are still very competetive high end today.

I have a Carver C-9 Sonic Hologram Generator.  Not sure of the exact manufacturer date (I had one many moons ago when it was new and then bought a used one about a decade back and recently  had it upgraded) but they were made from 1981-1989 (I believe).
