I need help on building crossovers of my own. I am making a system that will consist of a Dayton 1 1/8 silk dome 5 1/4 for a mid and a 8 for the woofer and will be using a split cab design.

The enclosure will be

41.5 inches tall
10 inches wide
12 inches deep

The bass cab will be 27X8.5X10.5

look at the link for a general idea of what I would like to do.

I'm Chuck from SF, California.
I've been building crossovers for many years.
In this new age of DSP and inexpensive bClass-D amplifiers, I have found the best results with active crossovers and multi-amping.
Other than pro-gear, an inexpensive  many manychoice I've found is the XKitz (not affiliated)3-way LR 24db/octave crossover kits and also available premade. They use plug-in frequency modules for simple choice of crossover points.
For amps, Ive had good luck with Ice Power and  Sure amps.
For passive crossover design I recommend reading a lot and LDC by Dickson is a good starting point.

Passive crossover design is doable IF you have a good measurement device.  Otherwise, you're best off hiring it done. 
And a three way is 10x more difficult than a two way.
