Piccolo RCA Jacks
« on: 3 Sep 2013, 01:45 am »
Hi,

Just finishing off a Piccolo build, it's pretty much stock apart from Dale resistors. Also fitting the Vampire RCA jacks as used by Jim in the HAL version, which have just arrived.
Figuring how to fit them, as they 2 mounting studs that don't match the pcb. So, just cut them off?

The leads also need to be bent to attach to the board, any tips or tricks?

Thanks, Chris

It's rather difficult.  You have to find just the right size spacers and washers to get them to mount to the holes (which are too large).  Then you have to modify the bottom half such that the leads can be bent appropriately.  Good luck with that.

Thanks Jim. Kinda wish I hadn't gone for these now!
Found that the mounting studs are easily removed with pliers, & as you say, it's a matter of bending the leads appropriately. Think I've a solution,
and 'dry' fitting two so far, it seems it would work.

The holes are a little large, but think I can get away without washers/spacers as the locknut seems to hold them pretty firmly, with the plastic body against the underside of the box cover
