X-LS Encore Resonation Control
« on: 25 Oct 2014, 03:26 am »
Hey guys, my buddy that can recognize resonations very well was claiming that's what he heard.

I've got no-res in mine, but just as an expermint I put some custom brass cones sitting on top and got clearer more defined sound.

Anyone else have experiences in controlling resonation of the boxes?

Perhaps I'll get some herbies for the bottom, but my old cones on top are nice too. Now I'm wondering if I need bigger ones, or if mounting them solid is helpful, I dunno! And yes I'm aware it isn't supposed to do anything so I dunno, it does.  :dunno:

Try a bag of sand or a Bright Star Little Rock on top. Much more panel damping than cones afford.

Yes, there's been some debate here about them.

They've committed some awful sins in the appearance category, however. I'd like to try Steve's stuff first as the principles are slightly better, and it's made in country. Oh and you can't really see it...
