Hi NIGHTFALL1970,
if I had the money, which is not the case for now, maybe one day,
that's exactly what I would buy and throw to the garbage my Rega P3...
Thanks for the link, made me dream in color and in 3D for free.

Nice turntable but I'm not sure why VPI offers so many different models now.

Hi Brooklyn,
running a business and dealing with customers for the past 20 years,
I can say that offering too many models that are very similar to each others
can be confusing for the potential buyers.
I often visit VPI website and always thought that their offering is good
but many turntables are very similar to each other, well, that's what I think,
maybe not for others.
I could say the same for the Rega line of turntables.

It's the same price as the Traveler, but with a detached motor like the original Well Tempered.

Probably both have the same platter, but I'm guessing.  VPI has many interchangeable parts within series of tables and this makes it easy to offer different models with features that might be preferred.

Nice turntable but I'm not sure why VPI offers so many different models now.

It's the friendly conflict between Harry and his son Matt.  Harry just wants to sell Classics and Matt wants to open up the market with attractive offerings on the lower entry level.  At least that's Matt's take on it, I haven't heard Harry's side of it.  Since its a friendly difference, nobody gets a no answer, so Harry keeps bringing out better, and more expensive, versions of the Classic, and Matt is free to market the lower end however he sees fit.  And once you have the basic platform it's not that hard to put together a Traveler base with some Scout parts, viola, the Scout Jr.  So the short answer of why VPI has so many models is that they can.
