Anyone know when the panasonic "50" bluray will be in stores? Any insight into the price point? Anything else coming out from any other vendor(s) worth considering at the medium price point?

I like the fact the 50 will have internal hi-def audio processing. Something that may work well into my config. Thanks, Kent

From what I've heard, the release date is April first......Oh, wait.....Now it's May first.
Just don't hold your breath, they may move the date to June first. 
And $599 seems to be the popular release price.

Look at that, no competition (HD-DVD) and the prices are high. Though the Panasonic is getting good reviews.

SD-DVD is the competition and always has been. The HD-DVD/BRD skirmish was just to determine which Hi-Def disc format would get to compete against SD-DVD.
