I'm looking for a small desktop Amp / DAC that will do a good job with my Beyerdynamic DT1350's . I need a USB connection and would like an external power supply . Budget is about $100 new or used .

I have a set of these, DT 1350 80 ohms....
For only $100 this is a tough one...for me...I use several amp and dacs....from a O2 amp and ODAC about $200 new.
The Schitt modi 2 and magni 3, but again $200...new.
Its hard to get something that will work well at the $100 price tag...shop for a used setup.
The play very, very well with amps, like the Schitt Vahalla 2....absolutey superb on the low impedance setting..but the amp is more than u want to spend.
Have you just tried to plug them into the audio jack on your laptop??

I've been doing my homework on the internet , and realize a $ 100 budget won't do . Recently I purchased a Fiio K5 headphone amp and dock for
use with my Fiio X1 DAP . The K5 has enough power for the DT1350's . Unfortunately sound wise , they aren't a good match . I get better results
when I connect a $35 Topping portable amp to the X1 with the DT1350's .

Do you mean say the budget is $1000?

In that price range I would probably be looking at the Schiit Audio products. For the DT-1350 I would be looking specifically at the Vali 2, which is priced at $149. I used to have a DT-1350, nice headphone. One question I would ask, is this your only headphone? If so, you can easily get by with something like a Vali 2, or something similar, wouldn't spend more than $200. If you have others and can spend more, look for something used. $300 in the used market will get you enough amp to power 80% of what's out there, though takes some time to do research and patience to wait for something good to come along.
