Hi,

We are looking for 5 channel amp and have an opportunity to buy used Bryston 9B-ST, they gave me serial number, Is there any way to check how much warranty is left and is it good idea to buy almost 15-16 years old unit.

Regards

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

I still have (bought it used) a 3B ST (2 channel version of the 9B ST) in a spare system.  It is still a good amp.

Date code is 9903 so looks like almost 18 years old and 2 years of warranty left. Is it still good buy and what should be the reasonable price?

Don't know what the asking price is.  I'm sure someone here may have access to the Audio Blue Book (https://bluebook.audiogon.com/brands/bryston) and be able to give you what that says.  You can look at used listings if there are any at Audiogon, US Audio Mart, https://www.hifishark.com/search?q=bryston+9b   etc.
