Is there anyone local that builds Marantz cabinets?

"Officially", not that I know of.
There are a couple woodworkers in STL though, Scott F., Ryan, and myself (probably the least skillful).
Whatcha got going on?

Hi Bob.

I am looking for either an original WC-22 or one built new.

Didn't you pick up some 'new to you' speakers recently?  How are they?

Can't help you on the "original" version, but would like to see one to comment on the "built new".
Might be possible.

The "new to me" speakers are fine.
The surrounds are rotted to the point of unusable, but the cabinets are fantastic.
I didn't mean to turn my desire to have some garage speakers into (yet) another project, but these speakers are so cool, that I feel I must restore them to original quality.
I've sent a message to "Speaker Craft" in the hopes they can provide me with new surrounds.

Bob is your best bet as I'm getting ready to build a major addition to the ole homestead that will suck up all my time for the next 6 months or more.

There's a gazillion surrounds available on FleaBay, but I was thrilled with the speaker rebuilds I had done out in St Peters/Charles or ?  Was it Tempest Audio?  Can't remember.

Total rebuild, surrounds and coils for around $75.  :thumb:

That was probably Lloyd Faulkner. He does a great job. He's done several pairs for me over the years.

Yep!  Very easy to work with, and if I remember correctly, finished them sooner than planned!

"back in the day" I recall a site called "speakerrepair{dot}com" that sold driver surrounds, but it's been a while.
But this is quite OT from the original thought on the thread.....  :dunno:
