New Omega Super 7 mk2s in a nearfield setup.
« on: 19 Feb 2017, 11:28 pm »
Thanks to Canada Rob for hooking me up with these fantastic speakers. I had KEF LS50s before and in nearfield I found them to be too shrill. Wanted to go with Omega 3 Desktops but Rob convinced me to get these instead because of my musical preference (rock/metal). Thanks to Louis for throwing in the spikes, they are SHARP though so be prepared to cut yourself during set up lol.

Put in almost 150 hours in them already, can't stop blasting them. These are my first full-rangers, had no idea nearfield speakers can be this non-fatiguing and sweet! I have the SVS SB12 paired with them, just need that deep bass, but by themselves they are quite capable in the low end as well. Midrange is where these excel at though, toooo good.

Chain is Benchmark DAC 3 -> First Watt J2

Those are great looking as well. Is that Teak veneer?

Nice setup Rockin, and great doing business with you,

Beowulf,
The finish is level 1 EKO Teak.  A nice medium/light laminate with embossed wood grain which is hard to tell from the real thing.

Thanks! They are EKO teak, matches nicely with my (wobbly) table.

EDIT: Just saw Canada Rob already answered your question.
