   Nice 845 amp... Bel Canto SET 40. A beauty and good sounding amp, and I should know. What 845 tubes and 12AX7s you have in it? Too bad they don't make it like this anymore. They have switched to the dark side... or should I say a bright side
 
   Where do you get the wooden horn from? Or you made them yourself?

The 845B is a dramatic upgrade to the stock Shuguang 845As.  In fact, I prefer it significantly to the Psvane 845 as well.

My first post and thought I would pitch in here as I have just bought a Bel Canto Set 40.

I took the 845's out to give the amp casework a bit of a clean up and only noticed on reassembly that both 845 valves are numbered in permanent marker pen. My understanding (being strictly non techie) is that this amp has a self biasing circuit, in which case what is the point of numbered valves?
