Mystery box accross mains
« on: 23 Nov 2014, 05:07 pm »

I recently purchased a couple of used tube amps and this box was connected across the mains in each unit.
I am pretty sure its some sort of filter and has some crystals to probably soak up some stray energy.
If anybody knows what this is and where it came from I would like to know.
And any opinions on its validity
thanks
 So it goes.........

Try looking at Kemp Elektronics, Audio Magic, and Jaguar Audio for some leads.  The new Kemp units have crystals inside but I do not see a knob on it so am not sure it is a Kemp product.

That looks like an Audio Magic Pulse Gen.

The crystals might do something, but I pretty sure that the circuitry actually produces RF noise a la the TICE clock. IF you power it up you may be able to pick up the noise it radiates on an AM radio.

Its been confirmed that it is a Audio Magic Pulse Gen.  Sells for $400
I will have to put it back in and give a listen to see if its smoke or true
