Hi all,
today I met a man with Diabetes type 2
and he told me that is blood sugar is at 11.0%
which is high and he knows it,
but rely more of less on his doctor to cure his diabetes.
Since his blood sugar level is higher from his last check-up
his doctor increase his dose of metaphormine from
500mg three times a day to 750mg 3X a day.
I told him that wasn't to solution to his diabetes problem.
I told him first to quit the white bread and the muffins which he eat
on an industrial level and many other fast food stuff...
He told me it won't be easy.
I told him he need will if he don't want things - his health to worsen.
He's 40 years old, weight 105Kg and he's 5'8''

I've shared wih him my experience and success,
now, if he want's to do it his own way,
it's up to him, but he will have to accept the consequences.

Down the glucose from the person solves the problem?

Hi FullRangeMan,
yes, that's obvious, the glucose (Blood sugar) must go down,
but for many diabetes type 2 they don't really know how to do it
or they think pill will solve everything.
75% diet and 25% exercise...
I understand it's not easy for everyone.
For me, it was fairly easy and spread over one year.
By the way, did I mention that I was off completely of metaformin medication ?

Hi FullRangeMan,
medicinal tea won't do it alone,
you need to have some kind of lower calories diet.

An up-date to the above.
Yesterday I saw that man eating white rice with a chicken leg and...
Well that's it, that was his meal !
And if that was enough, he had coffee and muffin for breakfast.
Obviously, that man is not taken his health condition seriously
and only rely on pills to lower his blood sugar
and I must say from experience:
It will not work.
But I give up on him and I let him do what he wants,
after all it's his health not mine.
I did share with him my experience...

Hi FullRangeMan,
I am more concerned about the lack of varieties in his plate,
no vegetables...

Hi all, that same guy I was talking about, well,
this evening he had a spaghetti plate with thin can spaghetti sauce and...
Well that's it, nothing else, not the most healthy food for his diabetes body.
I did not mention anything to him, after all,
it's none of my business what he feed his body with
and if he likes to jeoperdize his long term health.

Hi Folsom,
well, I have to admit that you've go a point there.
Yes, directly or undirectly, we all pay for that guy bad eating habits.
I don't know him very well,
but according to our last talk on how to improve his blood sugar level,
as per my successful experience,
he did not seems to care too much
or if he cares, he doesn't look like someone to be in a hurry to change
his eating habit.
I might give him a little (Gentle, none provocative) speach, discussion
to make him realize that what he's doing is not the right thing to do
if he cares about his future health.
Right now he's young and srong, but if he continue it won't last for ever...
Eventually, he will run into health complications.

Hi all,
today it was that time again !
I ran out of my spuper special vegie etc... soup.
I made a big batch that should last me around 2 weeks
at the rate of two bowls a day.
Now, this is what I have put into it:
(Go get a coffee and find a good chair, this might be long...)
The following are steamed:
Betts, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, brocoli, cali flower.
Now, boilled:
Rotini pasta, ground beef and pork.
Raw items:
Onions, shallots, red kidney beans, lentils, red peppers,
pacific red wild salmon
and salt. pepper, V8, apple cider vinegar.
Is that enough for you ?
How does it taste ? ? ?
Very good, to me anyway, I like that kind of mix.
I've been eating that stuff for about 5 months now
and I am still alive, surprising isn't it ?
Of course I also eat other stuff, like hard boiled egg, celeri,
8 whole grain bread mix, natural peanut butter, butter, plain natural yogourt
and of course apple and banana.
I dring Lipton and green tea and half a glass of pure apple juice,
some times with olive oil and lemon.
That's a lot of good stuff for the body.
Of course that a lot, but does not mean I eat all that in large quantities...
I am reasonnable in my portions.
Bon appétit.

Hi FullRangeMan,
many things can make the food (Vegetables and fruits...) loose it's nutriments.
Food not being fresh, cooking - heating food (Too much)
and keeping it in the refrigirator for too long.
What I do is:
When I can I eat raw, like oinion, shallots, red pepper...
I also steam vegetables, not boiled... Not over cooked.
I freeze them until ready to be eaten,
which is a maximum of 2 weeks.
I try to keep as much as I can all the nutriments...
That's better than eating fast food.

Farm raised Atlantic salmon with a gene for faster growth from another fish.  It's still a salmon.  The initial splicing was done in Canada and has been awaiting approval for market sales for years while the science guys did tests to make sure it was still a salmon.  Similar to audiophiles constantly updating crossover parts to get a cleaner, faster, sound without needing to change all the components.  Would I eat the salmon, ya, if I can't get wild caught Pacific salmon.
