This new Pro-Ject 9cc at half off is worth considering.  Reported to be a very decent arm, don't see why it wouldn't work nicely on your Rock.

Easily adjustable VTA and Azimuth -- not always included on sub $1000 arms.  For cable, I think the 9cc came two different ways:  DIN socket at tonearm base (for DIN to RCA cable), or terminated w an RCA junction box (for RCA to RCA cable).

Standard Linn mount.  If you need it, I'll send you one of my blank armboards.  Just drill it out.

Still up in the air. the audiomods arm that was the frontrunner turned out to be fairly poor condition and a series 4.  On the other hand I have tracked down a Kuzma Stogi and an Audiomods series V and am waiting to hear back and get pictures.

Anyone have opinions on the Stogi?  Or what is a better choice between a series 5/wo VTA vs a series 4 w/VTA?

Kuzma arms are great.   Kindof stodgy and not much to look at, but great engineering, well built, and sound fantastic.  I have owned Stogi Reference,  Stogi "s" and auditioned a regular Stogi (local friend owns it).  Both the Stogi and Stogi Ref are fantastic on the Rock.  The "s" is a unipivot, so I used it on a different table.

Only reason I no longer have my Stogi Reference is it got lost in the mail going back to factory for a rewire.  Poof, vanished without a trace.  A complete loss.

If you check my previous posts (in this thread, and in your other WTB thread, and other threads) you will find my positive Kuzma comments.  Not gonna go into audio dweeb detailed speak about the sound other than to say they are stellar w/ every cartridge I tried, are very easy to setup and use, and offer all adjustments including azimuth.

No experience w/ audiomods, so I can't comment on it or offer comparo to Kuzma.

If you decide against the Stogi, please put me onto the seller.  They are rare on the used market and I'd likely buy it at the right price and condition.

Thanks...
John

Have you looked at  Helius Tonearms (Helius Scorpio 4 - Retail 1k)

I would call  Dan Meinwald  (EAR/Townshend Dist)  see if he has,  any demo Heluis arm's  laying around (show demos)

Townshend and Heluis Tonearms  make a Super combo!

Just a FYI

Peace

Origin Live Silver -- a highly regarded Rega vaiant.  No direct experience but based on what I read I'd consider it strongly.  This is the most current version with VTA adjuster.

Don't forget, CAD 650 is only about USD 515.  Well within budget.

jelco arms are available new for approx $500, used grace arms are worth seeking.

Visit Jelco's website.  It may show some of the TT manufacturers they make arms for.  I use a 10" 750SE with a heavy LOMC cartridge and think its a great arm.  Their headshells are removable which is handy if you have two or more cartridges and they tighten on very securely.

I've already mentioned Jelco.   Several times.

No shit.  I'm reinforcing your mention.  Tommy's, also.

Even better, here's a Jelco at a great price on sale here at AC:
