I've been kicking around the idea of selling mine, and am disappointed yours has been reduced down to $125 and isn't selling.

Not true. I've used my Duet remote to control the Duet and the SB3 at the same time, in different rooms playing different music.
The remote is used to scroll through the menu, choose playlist, songs, etc..etc.. and view album art. Much more than initial setup.

As a small added bonus, it looks really cool sitting on my desk in its charging cradle as a sexy looking clock.

I used it with my Squeezebox vs the Duet.  It is very handy if you don't want to carry around another device to have it dedicated in the room.  Try and get a nice unit these days since they are not made anymore.

I'm sorry, but he's absolutely right. And you shouldn't even need it, to do the initial set-up of the SBR; as you can use UDEP or SqueezeConfig.

But I have a unit, that's giving me fits for some reason; so I thought about picking up an SBC...just to keep in a drawer. That's worth ~$50, AFAIC.

No offense...but the only person who would pay what you're asking; is someone who knows very little about these devices to begin with. So I would have said go to eBay, and keep your fingers crossed; but it appears, even over there they know better.
