9bsst amp w/ muted channels
« on: 10 May 2010, 03:33 pm »
When I powered up my amp only two of the five channels are green, the other three remain red. I have never seen them power up red before. I understand it is a mute state, but after an hour they are still red.

The muted channels are 1, 3,  and 5. Channels 2 and 4 work fine.

I checked my connections and swapped a channel or two with no change.

I toggled the switch, disconnected the cord...still the same.

I've had this unit for years with no issues...

any thoughts...

I emailed Mike Monday morning, but I have not heard from him yet. Is there a faster way to get a response?

I sent a follow-up mail this afternoon, plus I am seeing no change in the amp performance.

If i don't here from him tomorrow morning, do you recommend I call the US service number?

thanks.

Hello drewmarsh,

Sorry to jump a little off topic

but...

A future upgrade for my home theatre system may involve a 9B SST. I would like to hear your thoughts about this amplifier and also, what are you using for a pre-amplifier?

Thanks.

Be well...

I enjoy using it...for music and now home theater. I would buy it again for sure.

My pre-amp is a Lexicon MC-1.

this channel mute issue is my first problem in over 5 years.
