Work ok with Scandyna Micropod SE's?

Anyone have thoughts on how well this sub might mate up with a pair of Scandyna Micropod SE's that I would like to use as a desktop system?  I want to try and take the room out of my listening equation :)

Those Micropods appear hard to drive with low impedance and low efficiency (4 ohm load, 86 dB/w/m).  They'd need a stout/stable power supply, yet hard to imagine that they could handle the rated 100 watts with a 3 inch mid/woofer (similarly sized powered speakers have 15 - 20 wpc amps).

Adding bass will cause more room interaction not less (but a sub can be moved, dialed up/down, and adjust for phase).  Recommend trying the speakers without a sub to start with as 60 Hz response goes a long way towards providing satisfying sound on a desktop (way different than at a huge showroom).  Keep in mind that subs can easily overwhelm tight/small spaces and sound very disconnected from speakers sitting on your desktop.

Have you considered Audioengine A2+ powered speakers (with DAC for $250/pair) or PSB Alpha 1 powered speakers ($300/pair that Paul Barton uses at his desk)?  By the way, both have connections for subwoofers.

Yeah, have tried them and they do need a sub.  Vastly different sound then the Bach Classics by Vienna Acoustics that I had been using :)  Tis true about the sub, it CAN be moved, the Bach's can't :)

Recently grabbed 2 for $64 ea. on Amazon. Anyone who uses Google Chrome get Camel, it's a price tracker that will notify of any item on amazon that you look at; select the camel icon, put in your price parameters and voila you'll know as soon as the price drops to what you want.
