Just drew up the back. I will machine the "N-Core" logo into it.

The second pictures shows mock up connectors. Colored them red so you can see them.

Got the feet done tonight. I made 3 at a time, then cut them apart with a bandsaw. After cutting them apart i ran one at a time to get them to thickness. Made some white ones aswell, i'll give it a try on my pair. 1/2" tall and 5/8" in diameter.

All done :)

Waste chips. My machine has a chip auger, makes cleaning easy.

I started drawing the interior of the case today. Should have it finished but will for sure design the 3 insulating standoffs and conductive standoff for the PSU.

The insulating standoffs will be made out of white delrin, which is a great dielectric.

Matt's design makes the one pictured (from Dan D') look like a shoebox.   :thumb:

I can't wait to see the finished product.

I wonder if that copper has been treated, would hate to see it corrode....

You are the metal expert, but I would bet that amp is clear coated to prevent oxidation.  It's a really nice amplifier and is very well designed (and expensive).   I also love the way it looks.  That copper looks very cool and the dial on the front is also very attractive, IMO.

I like the lighted watt meter but not at the angle it is at.  I think a flush mounted watt meter would be real cool.

These are very large and are probably placed on the floor.  The slanted dial makes it possible to see the face without laying on the ground.  It looks pretty cool to me.

On thing to know though, he did not make that. Someone else made it for him

I design and make my own stuff and not to brag but i'm only 25 :)

Today i drew the rest of the model (99% there :) ) and made the delrin standoffs for the PSU.

So the PSU needs 4 standoffs, one that is conductive (grounded) and 3 that are insulating or non conductive. I made these to the 10mm tall spec from the data sheet. The case has the one conductive standoff machined into it. It will be masked during anodizing so it's raw aluminum, anodizing is non conductive. The (3) delrin standoffs bolt into the case and the PSU bolts to these.

Raw material.

First operation.

Second operation. Takes the back off and brings them to the .3937" or 10mm dimension.

All done :)

Onto the interior of the case. I made wire ways for everything. The standoff towards the back of the case (by the connectors) is a ground pad, for signal, nAMPON and earth. I removed the front engraving for the moment but it will be there when machined.

The red pieces are the white delrin standoffs.

Mock up amp and PSU boards (actual size and heights).

Bottom cover installed :)

Thanks man!!

I am very excited to wire them up. Hey i get my speakers and turntable back from anodizing soon. Man it'll be fun to listen to it all  8)

Mine were built by JTWrace and I also got the Ncore faceplates, which are pretty slick. I have a special finish I want to apply to these but I don't want to spring the money to do it just yet. They're going to look cool. Not as cool as yours though.  :green:
