I will put my stereo soundstage/sq/imaging/etc up against any dedicated 2 channel setup

Bring it Brady!!   :duel:

The way I do it (because I have to combine rooms in this rental house) is use the same mains and plug in the appropriate speaker cables between the junk HT gear for movies and expensive 2 channel gear for the serious listening.

( I often get confused with the guy who carries Brady's deflated balls to the field )

It is hard work but HT integration with SOTA 2 channel is definitely doable.

Geez, man. You're in a completely different league than most of us on this forum. That room is awesome.

Pete is my hero.  He can carry my deflated balls anytime.

If you happen to have or come across a very nice preamp that doesn't have a H/T pass-thru you could use this.

I'm currently using the SW2X-1 and it works perfectly.

I believe the room layout / geometry will be different between a HT and a dedicated 2CH.  To my simple mind, that is a larger problem than using purpose build equipment.

In my case, I have a fixed projector screen on my front wall.  If it was just 2CH, I'd probably place a treatment of some sort back there.

Bob, yes, and that's why I did (place something back there).

Couldn't you get an acoustically transparent screen and still place acoustic treatment behind it?

Yes, but I'm cheap.  My screen is DIY drywall.  Cost me $150 about 10 years ago and still looks great

I ended up just doing seperate systems.  More of a convenience and lifestyle usage choice.  I am too lazy to switch everything up.   My upstairs (main floor) system is tube based and fills the upstairs with great tunes while allowing me to entertain, etc.   My basement has a killer HT setup.  Honestly listening to music on this system is quite good but a different presentation.   I do listen to music in the HT when its just me.

I could use the HT bypass on my Parasound preamp and make it more a music type system, but to be honest I don't want to do extra switching, component turn on/off.  My Marantz AV7702 sounds pretty good as is.

I use a Kramer 4x1 audio switcher

Was tired of unplugging and reinserting cables and the wear and tear of doing so.
Now I just press switch 1 for two channel or 2 for HT
Works great and I don't hear any signal degradation.
Also I have the rack mount kit for the Kramer.

That little box will control this Rear rack:

And the front rack at the push of a button

All I have to do is power two amps on for two channel and for HT is power up 5 amps for HT
Course if all amps are powered up I just have to use the Kramer two buttons and DONE :thumb:.

Thanks Phil,
Hopefully Bryston will come out with a real nice radio in 10-15yrs as I won't be able to lift the 28's no more.
Have had these for awhile and haven't moved them yet :D.

I know about lifting things.  At least my old 6BSST (vs. my old 14BSST) had handles on the back.  Made it a bit easier.  I have my heavy pieces on gliders (my rack weighs 350 lbs.).  I had to get help with Torus RM20 to get it started into the rack without scratching it.  When I was moving late in 2013, I had to take the old audio rack down and take off the screen for the projector to patch the walls.  The guy helping me asked me if there was lead in the unit.  The handles are definitely functional.

Nice unit! Is there  anything like this available for us unbalanced guys?

Wait that sounds bad... :o

How about for those of us that do not use balanced cables?

Thanks!
