I certainly hope nothing will come of it and that people will continue to freely push for the things they want as we are now.  The way things are now I don't see how it is possible for a hi-fi charlatan to take advantage of you or hurt you if you don't WANT to be taken advantage of.  The technical\scientific\electrical information is out there for the taking.  You are free to learn from it what you will, or not, or take pieces of it.  That's the way it should be.  Even if you can't stand such a magazine you have the choice not to subscribe.  But get the FTC involved and now everyone is paying for it.  Now everyone is financing some niche thing they've never heard of or don't care about.  Hopefully this hobby IS niche enough so as to stay under the busybody radar.

Let's hope. It only takes is one voice and a pol who happens to be listening though. Just look how Harley Davidson got the Regan administration (ostensibly the most pro market since Harding) to close the door on Japanese and Euro bikes.
