Embedded Synology EDS14 with DAC

I am having fun with this new setup.

Synology EDS14 has two USB port - use one for storage, another one for connecting to your USB DAC (DAC-10, DAC-9, IDA-8, IDA-16, Encore mDSD).
You can use Audio Station to play local music, or stream from another NAS (I have two other media servers running for test - JRiver Media Center and Synology 2-bay model).
You can use the remote DS Audio app from mobile device to control it.

This is the easiest way into computer audio for computer-phobes. And maybe also the cheapest, as one would need a NAS anyway.

My setup is Synology 115 direct to Nuforce dda-120 via USB, controlled by DS Audio android app in the phone/Tablet.

The only upgrade in electronics that I sometimes miss is a Nuprime Ida 8.

I'm curious what drove selection of the EDS14 versus other similarly price Synology models?

Refer to the chassis for Raspberry Pi, EDS14 or something similar could also be mounted inside.
EDS14 can also be powered by a power bank with 12V output (I tried and it works) if the SD card is used. The power bank can not supply a portable HD connecting to EDS14.  EDS14 can come in handy for a portable setup while traveling.
