Any fairly high powered OTL's in our group?
« on: 12 Jan 2007, 05:40 pm »
Just got my GR Rsearch Alphas and am considering ordering a pair of Transendents "The Beasts" and I would love to hear some OTL's on the Alphas prior to ordering, or to see even if I want to order them.  I think someone has the Berning OTL but I can't remember who?????  All help is appreciated.  Other amps would be considered as well.  All the best, Guy

I believe that shooter owned the Berning.  He had them at our first get-together (that he graciously hosted), but I vaguely recall that he typically runs it at home.  He might have brought it to Gary's place when he had the Alphas, but I can't quite remember any more.

Great!  If you have a chance to hear it on your Alphas, let us know how it sounds.  It has been long enough that I don't remember details either, but as I recall, the sound on Shooter's electrostatic panels was quite good.

BTW, congrats on the new Alphas - it sounds like your pair was very well built!
